I remember my Aunt Anne with great affection, a woman small in stature but with a big heart and with lots of chat. She was "big" sister to my Mum Elsie, looking very like her, but with twinkling blue eyes instead of hazel.Anne was a woman of courage and determination who was strong in the face of life's adversities. She took on the caring role early in life ,looking after her younger sister Elsie and younger brother David when their mother Ellen died. I will always remember a lovely holiday I spent as a teenager in her home in Dover and the big welcoming hug I received on arrival. I am thankful for her long life and for good memories of her.

Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again
I love you Mum . . . always.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
